Naut-team 1 - 0 Munich
(368321942)

07-04-2012 16.00
The crowd of 27579 turning up at
Billy Bremners Memorial today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Tomi Markkonen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Herman Askenskär and
Célio Couceiro.
Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this
Østfold derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents.
Naut-team had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
They fielded: Jorge - Kvičius, Oliversson, Sundby, Haugaa - Fjermestad, Castilho, Olsen, Ullens - Verçuni, Bánfalvi.
Munich decided to use a 5-3-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Samaha - Reiten, Stjärnhall, Tryggvesson, Ragnerberg, Lundberg - Seljeseth, Madsen, Kaleja - Holand, Ulvin.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Munich.
Naut-team's counterattacks created a good chance for
V. Sundby on the right after 25 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar.
B. Kaleja did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
28 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
A. Reiten, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
E. Seljeseth was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on!
Munich's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 33 minutes gone, but
B. Stjärnhall's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
34 minutes into the game, Naut-team had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
solid.
Naut-team's
D. Kvičius tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
At 42 minutes played,
D. Kvičius came in from the right with the intention of giving Naut-team the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar.
0 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Naut-team, with 67 percent of the ball.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Naut-team was able to get his message across, and raised Naut-team's organisation to
solid.
Naut-team took the lead, 1 - 0, after a penalty 60 minutes into the match.
V. Sundby scored from the penalty spot.
A counterattack by Munich after 62 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
V. Lundberg, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
Munich mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 69 minutes, but
M. Ulvin was unable to convert from short range.
Naut-team claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.
I. Bánfalvi performed admirably for Naut-team.
However,
T. Jorge made a disastrous appearance.
Munich's top performer was clearly
B. Stjärnhall.
T. Holand on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 0.
