A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 45946 to Mørk Boden Stadion. Emmanuel Prado was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Octávio Esmeriz and Ollipekka Kähärä. Bod I.L decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Spidsø - Kristiansen, Bastesen, Romo - Knutsen, Marques Garcia, Engeset, Pálffy, Arentoft - Olsen, Mydland.

Munich started off with a 5-3-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Samaha - Reiten, Remøy, Stjärnhall, Ragnerberg, Lundberg - Seljeseth, Madsen, Kaleja - Ulvin, Roussado.

Today, Bod I.L's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Munich were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Many thought G. Mydland ought to have been awarded a penalty 10 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around K. Samaha after a determined run through the middle. With 30 minutes played A. Kristiansen almost gave the home side the lead with an unexpected free kick set up, but the visitors' K. Samaha was onto it, grabbing the would be breakthrough ball. O. Remøy showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for Munich after 32 minutes to make the score 0 - 1. Munich increased their lead after 33 minutes when B. Stjärnhall broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. 0 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Bod I.L, with 69 percent of the ball.

Bod I.L reduced the lead to 1 - 2 with 47 minutes on the clock when G. Mydland got the best of a ball floated in from the left. Munich's R. Roussado was shown a yellow card after 63 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The player down was A. Engeset. The Bod I.L bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. A quick counter attack by Munich forced the opponent's defender to give away a freekick. E. Seljeseth was allowed to take it quickly by the referee, much to the dismay of the goalkeeper who wasn't prepared. 1 - 3! It was obvious that Bod I.L had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. The goal to make it 1 - 4 was scored by R. Roussado after 69 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Munich. The players of Munich now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. A misunderstanding between the visitors' keeper K. Samaha and his left defence could have resulted in a goal for Bod I.L, but K. Arentoft's finish was way too lame. The intense heat forced B. Kaleja into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others. Bod I.L had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. Bod I.L enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.

Most important Bod I.L player was T. Knutsen. B. Spidsø turned in a dismal performance, however. Munich's top performer was clearly B. Stjärnhall. On the other hand, A. Reiten's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 4.
