Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 34622 to Makaveli. Juan Engelage was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Iver Smidemann and Daniel Panske. Hitemup seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The wings were the focus of most of Sparta's attacks today. Sparta took the lead after 10 minutes making the score 0 - 1. H. Orenhult placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. B. Kolstad's speed was clear to see after 24 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released R. Vasset who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 1 - 1. 32 minutes into the match, Sparta nearly took the lead, as A. Romero Ramos broke through on the right. S. Carruthers made the save, however. With 34 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending. H. Orenhult put the ball away for 1 - 2. S. Carruthers kept the home side in the game with a magnificent save when J. Vaahtera delivered an almost perfect free kick to the far post. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Sparta enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

Hitemup's S. Marronaro was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - R. Vasset managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 2 - 2 after 54 minutes. They were singing the praises of J. Fiskå 55 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 3 - 2 to Hitemup. The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Sparta's coach gave U. Porta the opportunity the player had been hoping for. Q. Schüpbach reluctantly left the field. Hitemup had to make a substitution after 68 minutes. J. Fiskå limped off the field and was replaced by S. Bergsland. After 75 minutes, Sparta's C. da Igrexa swiftly ran past R. Johansen and nutmegged the keeper! 3 - 3. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 76 minutes allowed E. Tardin to score for Sparta. The scoreboard now read 3 - 4. With 84 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed M. Schwojer of Sparta to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 3 - 5. Confident in their lead, Sparta's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Sparta had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

The most dominating Hitemup player was without a doubt S. Bergsland. F. Stegane turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Sparta player was C. Gilson. U. Porta on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 5.
