(368454571)

12-05-2012 15.30
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 51000 at
Farkasodú today.
Richard Martin was the appointed referee.
WhiteWolf tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
Starters: Jáger - Kjørsvik, Błach - Lipcsi, Baum, Obradović, Matthiesen, Forgács - Pinczehelyi, Szabó, Bazzell.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Árva.
The following players took the field: Ćwik - Dezső, Szałak, Gerlach, Korgól - Andrej, França, Purmonen, Manzano López - Pozhinskiy, Righini.
It was an obvious ambition of Árva to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
WhiteWolf had a chance to take the lead after
M. Bazzell's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 6 minutes.
A. França was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Árva counterattack from the left after 29 minutes. His neat finish made the score 0 - 1.
30 minutes into the match, WhiteWolf's
I. Pinczehelyi maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1.
In a rapid move 32 minutes into the match,
I. Forgács of WhiteWolf lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
M. Bazzell who easily hit it home to make it 2 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
WhiteWolf solidified their lead at the 37 minute mark, as
M. Bazzell dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1.
The players of WhiteWolf now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
After 38 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
A. Lipcsi might have resulted in another goal for WhiteWolf. However,
A. Ćwik made a spectacular save.
It was 3 - 1 at the break.
WhiteWolf enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.
I. Purmonen had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper
B. Jáger was simply unbeatable.
B. Jáger made a brilliant save 59 minutes into the match, blocking a rocket of a shot from
V. Pozhinskiy on the right hand side.
Árva's
L. Righini got himself booked for a foul.
D. Baum should probably have put his team up another goal after 77 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
A. Ćwik kept the visitors in the game.
Árva's counterattacks were lethal to the opposing defence, allowing
V. Pozhinskiy to score easily from the right flank for 3 - 2.
WhiteWolf managed to extend their lead to 4 - 2 when
J. Kjørsvik cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
88 minutes into the game, WhiteWolf were awarded a penalty that
J. Błach turned into 5 - 2 without a problem.
Possession in this half belonged to WhiteWolf, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.
Most important WhiteWolf player was
I. Pinczehelyi.
On the other hand,
J. Szabó's play was disheartening.
Árva's best player was
V. Pozhinskiy.
V. Manzano López turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 5 - 2.
