Brigantik 3 - 1 11LuCiFeR11
(368466139)

31-03-2012 15.30
Due to an all-day shower, 34717 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Briganti Arena.
Almar Hammerstein was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mischa Eilenfeldt and
Ben van den Belt.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Brigantik.
They fielded: Zuleta - Thies, Kopriva, Bon Nielsen, Ferling - Alice, Barreiro, Lozanov, Ruffles, Janowski - Polanec.
11LuCiFeR11 had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Doerr - Markl, Rojas - Güneri, Gualba, Scalmana, Mendy, Caspersen - Shekiladze, Devi, Ratković.
F. Mendy did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 19 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
F. Thies, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
B. Ratković.
F. Barreiro increased the lead for Brigantik to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 24 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving
V. Güneri completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper.
11LuCiFeR11 reduced the lead after 26 minutes to 2 - 1 as
T. Devi easily chipped the ball past the home side's keeper after a dazzling play from the right.
2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Brigantik enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.
With 47 minutes played, the visitors could have drawn level after
J. Gualba came through the middle, but his kick went wide.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
Z. Polanec got himself booked. The manager of Brigantik was not happy.
After 60 minutes, 11LuCiFeR11 switched
R. Rojas with
S. Kurz, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
With 63 minutes played, Brigantik's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
R. Bon Nielsen he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 1.
Confident in their lead, Brigantik's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
11LuCiFeR11 breathed new life into the game with an opportunity to reduce the score after 75 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball on the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar.
Brigantik had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
The most dominating Brigantik player was without a doubt
P. Janowski.
Q. Zuleta was a disappointment, however.
Most important 11LuCiFeR11 player was
G. Shekiladze.
S. Kurz turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
