previous 6/10 next 8/10  Fradi 0 - 2 KSK (368471717)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 33296 had shown up at SAS Arena for the match. Reno Stagg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Orlando Furgone and Arnold Richiger. Fradi decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Blunck - Bârsan, Milkowski, Holguín - Ballantyne, Riegler, Kustra, Bietry, Ameixeiras - Christensen, Tempini.

KSK started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. Starters: Łyszczek - Solt, Rozgonyi, Szécsényi, Lagundžija - Kovtun, Troszák, Szieben, Turján, Kondor - Burkus.

Fradi were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. C. Bârsan was very close to giving Fradi the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 2 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. The visiting R. Troszák was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 11 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. 20 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 2 as G. Burkus finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Fradi's B. Kustra found himself alone on the left side 35 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Fradi had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 58 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called KSK's R. Troszák to one side and produced a red card for the player. Fradi's M. Bietry had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 71 minutes having been played. F. Falkenau was the replacement. Some things can only be learned through experience, and L. Riegler should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting KSK a goal with 79 minutes of the match played. Possession in this half belonged to Fradi, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

Most important Fradi player was F. Falkenau. R. Ballantyne was a disappointment, however. KSK's top performer was clearly R. Lagundžija. I. Solt turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
