By now, the players in Gnashers felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, R. Zarzalejos got himself booked. The manager of Gnashers was not happy. 3 - 1 was the score after the first half. Gnashers had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Gnashers increased the lead as H. Maunu struck to make the score 4 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. L. Gladwin left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. G. Johnston was the replacement. A bit later, Wrights's 簡. 力圭 (Ligui) easily reduced the lead to 4 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave A. Pritchard from Gnashers a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 67 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Wrights's right side looked dangerous after 80 minutes, as 簡. 力圭 (Ligui) broke through. A. Maghribi continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Gnashers scored another to make it 5 - 2 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for H. Maunu after 82 minutes. This third goal completed a hattrick for H. Maunu. The home crowd was silenced as 簡. 力圭 (Ligui) took a successful penalty shot 86 minutes into the game, reducing the home lead to 5 - 3.
