M. Fantino came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Pelleverde the lead.
B. Valent's lightning pace was too much for
G. Wahnschaffe who could only look on as the Tiempo player blasted one home. 1 - 1.
The home side put themselves ahead 2 - 1 after 28 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
P. Acker, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
With 30 minutes played,
T. Meyer-Heegen came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by Tiempo.
T. Purker's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from
T. Meyer-Heegen's shot from the left 32 minutes into the match.
As the game started to slip away for Tiempo, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1.
Tiempo had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
With 48 minutes played, the visitors almost levelled the score.
B. Valent shot a hard curved free kick, striking the post.
The Tiempo players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Pelleverde's
R. Gabeschitz increasing the lead to 3 - 1.
Pelleverde's
H. Valenta left the field after 56 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
S. Fliegen.
The away team improved the scoreline to 3 - 2, as
B. Valent struck home, set up well by a play on the left 70 minutes into the match.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Tiempo's
C. Krausser was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 73 minutes.
E. Härtling was given a chance to change things around.
Tiempo tied it all up, 75 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by
T. Meyer-Heegen, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 3 - 3.
After 76 minutes, the home side was awarded a penalty. The visitors protested wildly but the referee was adamant.
G. Wahnschaffe easily put the ball away to give the lead to Pelleverde. 4 - 3
Tiempo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.
The most dominating Pelleverde player was without a doubt
P. Acker.
On the other hand,
F. Sorio's play was disheartening.
Most important Tiempo player was
T. Meyer-Heegen.
H. Dahl turned in a dismal performance, however.
