(368777460)

24-03-2012 18.00
Clouds darkened the skies at
HSV-Hexenkessel as 29986 spectators turned up for the match.
Gustaaf Smets was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Roland Kuoni and
Gustaw Socha.
Hagolter decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Rubinstein - Argiolas Porru, Fauchard, Ţurea - Ortu, Merilehto, Zeidenbergs, Balling, Jaschner - Kessels, Cuadrat.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Turbine.
The following players had been chosen: Britzke - Pozzoni, Norte, Sutter - Valenta, Caso, Rosales, Pyöriäinen, Tsopanakis - Chiuselli, Marinello.
Hagolter could have put themselves ahead after 7 minutes but
S. Cuadrat missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right.
22 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
R. Rosales, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
Hagolter's counterattacks created a good chance for
S. Merilehto on the right after 34 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar.
With 38 minutes played
P. Balling almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
0 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Hagolter, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Turbine's
T. Marinello after 66 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
Hagolter tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
Turbine came close to extending their lead as
A. Chiuselli delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 74 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
After 75 minutes of play,
S. Cuadrat evened things up for Hagolter with an impressive goal coming up the middle. 1 - 1.
With 81 minutes played,
A. Jaschner of Hagolter fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Possession was split evenly between the teams.
The most dominating Hagolter player was without a doubt
A. Fauchard.
On the other hand,
P. Balling's play was disheartening.
Turbine's top performer was clearly
A. Chiuselli.
However,
M. Britzke made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 1.
