(368783575)

14-04-2012 18.00
The 34414 fans in attendance at
Dynamo Stadion were roasting in the hot sun.
Bill Tully was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fernando García and
Mogens Bentsen.
Dresden decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Ader - Rouzaud, Baudaffi, Kleijn - Dellinger, Manara, Madariaga Sáenz, Boca, Van Oosterwyck - Le Mentec, Gallegos.
Disco started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
They fielded: van Adelsbergen - Beltrame, Balázsovits, Feitkenhauer, Andrei, Villarroel - Cabrera, Jänes, Lachermeier - Beeckmans, Knopper.
Disco clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
After 5 minutes,
M. Madariaga Sáenz came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Dresden the lead.
The sun seemed to put
D. Knopper in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
With 12 minutes played, Disco's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
R. Jänes he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 1.
Dresden took the lead after 13 minutes as a result of
A. Rouzaud's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
E. Boca squirmed through their central defence after 20 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1.
Dresden's
M. Madariaga Sáenz saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 29 minutes.
Disco caught their opponents out with a clever counterattack down the right wing 30 minutes into the match.
D. Knopper was able to finish off the move - 3 - 2.
It was 3 - 2 at the break.
Dresden had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.
Usually a powerful player on the field,
S. Van Oosterwyck looked kind of pale and tired under the hot sun.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Dresden to 4 - 2 as
Y. Le Mentec finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
L. Dellinger unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
After 81 minutes, Disco were awarded a free kick as their counter attack broke down. The set piece was lifted over the top, intended to open up the defence. However, the target man seemed to be taken by surprise, and could not reach the ball before it crossed the line for a goal kick.
Disco kept trying to force their way through on the right side and
D. Knopper got his chance after 82 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Dresden, with 69 percent of the ball.
Most important Dresden player was
L. Dellinger.
On the other hand,
R. Baudaffi's play was disheartening.
Disco's top performer was clearly
D. Knopper.
S. Feitkenhauer turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 4 - 2.
