Mitterkreith 4 - 1 Langesdingen (368792393)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Double A saw a crowd turnout of 39944. Saturnino Necochea was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Aleksander Tomczak and Vili Silvasti. Mitterkreith started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Turchi - Harith, Illetschko-Winkler, Gida - Laukkanen, Celentano, Grudzień, Frei, Strotzer - Marbeck, Turone.

Langesdingen tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Mose - Lind, Barillari, Pavani - Volovski, Johansson, Janeček, Čarný, Abeixón - Schaap, Kavalec.

P. Janeček behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 7 minutes as he gave the ball away to G. Celentano. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. Mitterkreith could have put themselves ahead after 10 minutes but M. Grudzień missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Frei from Mitterkreith a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 14 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! With clinical precision, the cross from winger Y. Volovski found its way to M. Kavalec's head, and a screaming header gave Langesdingen the goal after 15 minutes played. 0 - 1 The crowd chanted their encouragement as Mitterkreith's G. Celentano came in from the right after 32 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 1 - 1. Down the middle came M. Barillari, making a fantastic play that nearly had Langesdingen take the lead after 33 minutes, but C. Turchi preserved the tie. After 35 minutes, G. Turone came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 2 - 1, giving Mitterkreith the lead. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Mitterkreith enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.

After 55 minutes, K. Strotzer put Mitterkreith ahead 3 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Mitterkreith's C. Gida increasing the lead to 4 - 1. O. Marbeck had a fantastic opportunity to put Mitterkreith up another goal 87 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Mitterkreith had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

Most important Mitterkreith player was O. Marbeck. On the other hand, K. Strotzer's play was disheartening. Langesdingen's best player was A. Schaap. L. Mose turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 1.
