After 42 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for G. Nesim who increased Olympique's lead to 1 - 3. The players of Olympique now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Olympique will have to do without S. Del Zotti for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 43 minute mark. He was substituted by G. Pescarmona. Halftime score was 1 - 3. Eching claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

Eching reduced the lead to 2 - 3 with 54 minutes on the clock when K. Miot got the best of a ball floated in from the left. After 61 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed E. Saidys to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 2 - 4. 67 minutes into the game, A. Carpentieri had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury.
