The crowd of 17887 turning up at
Bolzplatz Budenzauber today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Riccardo Rizzo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Damon Oto and
Danny Kruitbosch.
All of
Nordrhein-Westfalen was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
Querenburg started off with a 5-4-1 lineup.
Starters: Staiger - Usai, Babay, Nüesch, Weder, Krarup - Pind, de Sousa, Jadlóczky, Bezombe - Bahnsen.
Hölle decided to use a 5-4-1 set up.
Lineup: Charles - Lanzuisi, Najman, Kurtulget, Lenne, Baicher - Krabbenschubser, Oró, Bichlmeier, Leroy - Urquidi.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Querenburg.
J. Bezombe was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace.
After 22 minutes, Querenburg were awarded a free kick as their counter attack broke down. The set piece was lifted over the top, intended to open up the defence. However, the target man seemed to be taken by surprise, and could not reach the ball before it crossed the line for a goal kick.
After 31 minutes, Hölle's
J. Leroy fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
H. Krabbenschubser got himself booked. The manager of Hölle was not happy.
42 minutes into the match, the technically gifted
J. Bezombe of Querenburg scored 1 - 0, having made
E. Bichlmeier look like a complete fool.
The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 43 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but
I. Staiger got the best of it, blocking the shot from
L. Najman.
With 44 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Querenburg resulted in a counterattack that set
S. Babay free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
It was 1 - 0 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Hölle, with 57 percent of the ball.
58 minutes into the match, the speedy
I. Urquidi easily outpaced
S. Babay, chipped the keeper and made the score 1 - 1.
J. Leroy had a good try after 76 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
B. Oró was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on!
Possession in this half belonged to Hölle, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.
Querenburg's best player was
T. de Sousa.
On the other hand,
R. Bahnsen's play was disheartening.
The most dominating Hölle player was without a doubt
B. Oró.
H. Krabbenschubser turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 1 - 1.
