previous 2/10 next 4/10  Brasselsberg 2 - 0 TittenKings (369085123)

The 4658 spectators at Brasselsberg Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Henry Heimgartner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jan F. Morgansson and Torbjörn Nyhborg. Brasselsberg had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Schmölz - Caboga, Bitterhof, Preuschen - Saurma, Domino, Maceček, Monterubbianesi, Breitwieser - Ganzel, von Buddenbrock.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for TittenKings. The following players had been chosen: Brätz - Samm, Zapf, Bissinger - Groskreutz, Killisch, Riedlsperger, Nürtingen - Holler, Dufresne, Ohlah.

Brasselsberg mostly relied on their long range shooting ability. Slack defending gave Brasselsberg a chance to take the lead with 2 minutes played, but A. von Buddenbrock's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition. N. Saurma caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 3 minutes. This gave Brasselsberg the 1 - 0 lead. Brasselsberg's N. Saurma swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. When G. Killisch left the game because of a back injury after 27 minutes, TittenKings had to continue a man short due to there being no available replacements. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Brasselsberg, with 81 percent of the ball.

Things were deteriorating for the away team as Brasselsberg scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for B. Ganzel after 57 minutes. Coming from the right, Š. Maceček almost managed to score another goal for Brasselsberg, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. L. Brätz was caught napping as A. von Buddenbrock lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 81 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but L. Brätz got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. Brasselsberg claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 86 percent.

The most dominating Brasselsberg player was without a doubt A. von Buddenbrock. However, J. Domino made a disastrous appearance. TittenKings's top performer was clearly K. Zapf. L. Brätz on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 0.
