48667 spectators had come to
SOAD Bowl this cloudy day.
Troels Askgaard was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Dan Lupu and
Dennis Shearer.
Punkrock decided to use a 2-5-3 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Falken - van der Borgt, Hallstein - Wollenmann, Schiffermüller, Gomez, Le Hen, Bēdiņš - Passoni, Blasa, Bin-Yaseen.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for CC.
Lineup: Bačarević - Bastianoni, Larsson, Dogliani - Marlet, Rostock, Ursa, Renattus, Cheraghi - Arra, Buarque.
CC used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field.
I. Bačarević would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
G. von Zahn entered the game for CC as the match clock showed 1 minutes.
After 1 minutes, the CC coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
O. Larsson off the field.
M. Thauvin took his place.
Punkrock fans held their breath as
H. Bin-Yaseen scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
B. Rostock from CC a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 34 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
A loud groan was heard from the fans of Punkrock, as
H. Bin-Yaseen left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match.
V. Hyrri took his place on the field.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Punkrock to 2 - 0 as
C. Schiffermüller finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Punkrock's
V. Hyrri increased the lead to 3 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 43 minutes.
Maybe due to the uphill battle the team was facing, the CC manager looked to change things around. After 44 minutes,
D. Bastianoni and
B. Marlet swapped positions on the field.
Still trailing on the score board, CC adjusted their tactics after 44 minutes.
B. Cheraghi had a quick chat at the side line, then switched positions with
M. Dogliani.
3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Punkrock claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
The coach of Punkrock was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 50 minutes,
S. Cohen came on for
V. Le Hen.
V. Hyrri's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 71 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
B. Blasa who knocked it in for Punkrock. 4 - 0!
Confident in their lead, Punkrock's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
After 73 minutes, Punkrock raised their score by one when
N. Bēdiņš's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by
V. Hyrri. 5 - 0.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Punkrock coach let
S. Connery replace
M. Gomez after 75 minutes.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Punkrock scored another to make it 6 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
P. Passoni after 76 minutes.
Punkrock put themselves up 7 - 0 when
C. Schiffermüller broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Punkrock increased the lead as
S. Cohen struck to make the score 8 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
The Punkrock free kick 85 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
J. Hallstein, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 9 - 0!
With 86 minutes played, Punkrock put themselves up 10 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
S. Cohen, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, CC's
R. Buarque was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 89 minutes.
P. Borkent was given a chance to change things around.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Punkrock, with 58 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Punkrock player was without a doubt
P. Passoni.
However,
V. Hyrri made a disastrous appearance.
L. Ursa performed admirably for CC.
B. Cheraghi turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 10 - 0.
