Farneti, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Habaneros, with 53 percent of the ball.

The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Habaneros's P. Mallone after 53 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead. After 59 minutes, Habaneros's J. Candreia burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3.
