(369108122)

05-05-2012 19.15
Due to an all-day shower, 47658 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
Valhalla.
Rikard Fagerer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Abel Bragança and
Corrado Concaro.
Midgard tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Filgueiras - Malvárez, Pavlyuk, Frigan, Zumbühl - Ahveninen, Hann, Dubois, Maneval - Gavinha, Šutliak.
Habaneros started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Kamacı - Candreia, Raith, Sempert - Dellapina, Mougin, Böhringer, Farneti, De Lellis - Casal, Mallone.
The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
I. Ahveninen.
0 - 1 was the score with 35 minutes played, after
M. Casal cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Habaneros.
The home crowd cheered when, after 37 minutes,
A. Sempert's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
I. Ahveninen showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 41 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away.
43 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
C. Farneti, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Habaneros, with 53 percent of the ball.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Habaneros's
P. Mallone after 53 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead.
After 59 minutes, Habaneros's
J. Candreia burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Habaneros coach let
V. Durey replace
V. Mougin after 60 minutes.
A drive down the left side allowed
M. Casal to get in close and score another goal for Habaneros after 71 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 4.
Confident in their lead, Habaneros's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
83 minutes into the match,
M. Casal came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
Habaneros had to make a substitution after 84 minutes.
M. Casal limped off the field and was replaced by
D. Audibert.
At the 85 minute mark, it looked like the opportunity for Habaneros to score had been missed until
P. Mallone suddenly worked his way clear and fired off a spectacular shot. The keeper had no chance! 1 - 5.
Habaneros claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
Most important Midgard player was
I. Šutliak.
On the other hand,
A. Pavlyuk's play was disheartening.
Habaneros's top performer was clearly
P. Mallone.
However,
J. Candreia made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 5.
