Clouds darkened the skies at
Arena Circo Massimo as 32000 spectators turned up for the match.
José Parrilla was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gianni Ottiger and
Thomas Läfflod.
A 4-3-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Cazzupizzu.
Lineup: Tóth - Chelidze, Novović, Papp, Szeiler - Severin, Babisch, Sellmeier - Siili, Matyhila, Russett.
Reutenen had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Forssjö - Reis, Riihelä, Eugui - Celada, Hernandez, Hervieux, Moore, Tillmann - Krattiger, Hammerseth.
Cazzupizzu were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
M. Babisch got himself booked. The manager of Cazzupizzu was not happy.

K. Krattiger had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide.
Down the middle came
K. Krattiger, making a fantastic play that nearly had Reutenen take the lead after 33 minutes, but
M. Tóth preserved the tie.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Reutenen, with 60 percent of the ball.
M. Babisch would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
R. Tron entered the game for Cazzupizzu as the match clock showed 57 minutes.
F. Hammerseth of Reutenen received a yellow card after 63 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
After 65 minutes, the Cazzupizzu coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
D. Chelidze off the field.
T. Wolfger took his place.
Reutenen's goal to make the score 0 - 1 came via a questionable penalty, but
K. Krattiger struck it home without a second thought.
The Reutenen coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 75 minutes into the game.
With 78 minutes played,
A. Hernandez of Reutenen fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
K. Krattiger left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
J. Sierra Urquijo was the replacement.
Reutenen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.
Cazzupizzu's best player was
K. Matyhila.
V. Novović on the other hand, had a terrible day.
F. Hammerseth performed admirably for Reutenen.
However,
J. Reis made a disastrous appearance.
