(369244722)

21-04-2012 19.15
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 29574 had shown up at
Messingpark for the match.
Kurt Labak was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Juraj Kulaš and
Heinz Myer.
Albrecht tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Gabert - Olivier, Schmidgall, Von Stachelski, Leemann - Adam, Diebel, Gilliéron, Sipiläinen, Hienonen - Bladys.
Jokers decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Rombach - Overbeck, Ofner, Bridon - Callegari, Donkers, Nitsche, Chavarria, Diano - Bilen, Montoro.
Jokers saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
With 23 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
R. Adam flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
Jokers were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings.
J. Overbeck made a run for the goal 29 minutes into the game but the home team's left back managed to sort the situation out in the end.
R. Bridon was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Jokers's
G. Chavarria managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 1 - 1
Albrecht took the lead 42 minutes in, as
D. Gilliéron broke through on the left and put the 2 - 1 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper.
The home side's
D. Diebel curled a free kick home after 43 minutes, putting Albrecht ahead 3 - 1.
43 minutes in,
I. Montoro made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but
G. Gabert refused to let the ball slip by him.
It was 3 - 1 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Albrecht, with 58 percent of the ball.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Albrecht tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
I. Leemann slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 4 - 1, 52 minutes into the game.
With 58 minutes played,
M. Bilen had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal.
With 59 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Albrecht resulted in a counterattack that set
D. Diebel free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
After 86 minutes, Jokers's
T. Ofner fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
Jokers's right side looked dangerous after 87 minutes, as
S. Donkers broke through.
G. Gabert continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy.
B. Rombach was caught napping as
D. Diebel lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms.
Albrecht enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
Albrecht's top performer was clearly
D. Diebel.
D. Von Stachelski was a disappointment, however.
Jokers's best player was
T. Ofner.
However,
J. Overbeck made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 4 - 1.
