3727 fans braved the pouring rain at Fortuna Best Beer 20 Arena. Badis Bedoui was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Francisco Bielva and Hubert Henzl. Bongo-Bongo used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. O. Pfaffenhofen burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. The visitors' R. Puchta took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 39 minutes into the match. 0 - 4 for Bongo-Bongo. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Bongo-Bongo lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With the scoreboard showing that 40 minutes had been played, Bongo-Bongo nearly put themselves up another goal after J. Monin came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. There was concern in the stands when, at the 41 minute mark, Bongo-Bongo's M. Kortzfleisch hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. Halftime score was 0 - 4. Possession in this half belonged to Bongo-Bongo, who controlled the ball 78 percent of the time.

H. Pfaffenhofen increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 5. 50 minutes into the match, I. Suárez came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave E. Błażejczyk from Bongo-Bongo a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 53 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Bongo-Bongo were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. With 67 minutes played, R. Puchta nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Bongo-Bongo, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. J. Monin was, after 75 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper V. Belov made the save. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Bongo-Bongo, with 80 percent of the ball.

F. Detemple performed admirably for Fortuna. V. Belov on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Bongo-Bongo player was without a doubt W. Altgrottkau. C. Niedersedlitz turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 5.
