Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 81916 to Miljoonabunkkeri. Egon Gemeinhardt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Maurice Nolder and Bas Nicolaye. Niki´s saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Kyntäjät. At 11 minutes played, K. Arpiainen came in from the right with the intention of giving Niki´s the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. 12 minutes into the game, C. Suchanek finished off a Kyntäjät left wing counterattack, making the score 0 - 1. The corner kick from H. Vorbecksriehe was powerfully met by the head of C. Suchanek to make the score 0 - 2. Niki´s supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to O. Jagusch who reduced the visitors' lead after 29 minutes to 1 - 2. After 33 minutes, T. Vana got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. It was 1 - 2 at the break. Niki´s claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 70 percent.

Kyntäjät's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 53 minutes gone, but A. Andersson's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Niki´s's T. Ostružár put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 2 - 2 with 58 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock. 60 minutes into the match, the Kyntäjät manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged. With 62 minutes played B. Młodnicki almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. 63 minutes into the game Kyntäjät managed a counterattack, but A. Andersson took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. H. Xin Tze had a good try after 64 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. The home side put themselves ahead 3 - 2 after 65 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from M. Garbacz, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. R. Gudiel wanted to play on, but the Niki´s coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 69 minutes into the game by D. Bello. The Niki´s players could smell victory in the air. T. Vana wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for H. van Luin after 71 minutes. O. Jagusch left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 75 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. N. Goncharov was the replacement. Kyntäjät needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 75 minutes A. Andersson made way for J. Karhunen. With 80 minutes played, the Kyntäjät coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. R. Conde came on, M. Rousku had to leave the fray. Niki´s had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.

Niki´s's best player was K. Arpiainen. Y. Burg was a disappointment, however. Most important Kyntäjät player was B. Molendijk. R. Conde turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
