Tölikkä 1 - 2 KIIMA (369404372)

Dark skies made the crowd of 48579 at FC Tölikkä Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Nuno Salvador was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Domenico Grassmeyer and Martin Karlsson. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Helsinki derby and the crowd was divided evenly. Tölikkä started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. Starters: Hösch - Dahlström, Sainela, Rojas - Raaska, Mäkikallio, Pöyliö, Grigoraş - Aittonen, Siirilä, Poten.

KIIMA tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Sima - Deitler, Bexiga, Abdolmohammadi - Casulleras, Romero, Ribeiro, Hökskär, Vidulov - Torgomyan, Sarriá.

Tölikkä's E. Siirilä tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. Tölikkä were very close to putting themselves one up after 25 minutes as V. Raaska got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, E. Siirilä got himself booked. The manager of Tölikkä was not happy. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when E. Casulleras was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 35 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! Tölikkä's counterattacks created a good chance for J. Pöyliö on the right after 36 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. After 38 minutes, KIIMA's E. Casulleras made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. A drive down the left side allowed J. Ribeiro to get in close and score another goal for KIIMA after 39 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. As the game started to slip away for Tölikkä, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. It was 0 - 2 at the break. KIIMA had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

49 minutes into the game Tölikkä broke through on the left wing and J. Aittonen managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 2. The Tölikkä coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. The bench was restless, and with 64 minutes passed Tölikkä's coach gave J. Loman the opportunity the player had been hoping for. J. Pöyliö reluctantly left the field. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Tölikkä manager used a brief break in play after 70 minutes to give the players new directives. Tölikkä's J. Aittonen refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 74 minutes. A. Torgomyan looked to be heading one way when he unexpectedly passed the ball to E. Casulleras. The move caught everyone off-guard, including his teammate, who panicked and kicked the ball out of play by accident. KIIMA enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

The most dominating Tölikkä player was without a doubt P. Poten. E. Siirilä was a disappointment, however. Most important KIIMA player was T. Romero. On the other hand, L. Bexiga's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 2.
