Clear skies welcomed the 8529 spectators who had made their way to EAST CAPITAL STADIUM. Puhi Busby was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hennes Proff and Aaro Kurittu. Capital decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Starters: Bottaro - Beiver, Caravia, Zenger - Pürro, Faure, Küenzler, Arnould - Ewald, Muellenbach, Laudani.

Bügelbier had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Oulsounidis - Morales, Hržina, Nappo - Herda, Jonkers, Berlanda, Rolen, Cormoş - Kalinowski, Bernazzani.

Capital took a creative approach on the field. Bügelbier saw most attack opportunities on the wings. After 8 minutes, Capital sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached J. Muellenbach, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 0. The visitors didn't give in and, after 22 minutes, E. Morales got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 1 - 1. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Bügelbier, with 63 percent of the ball.

The terraces were silenced after 51 minutes when Bügelbier's M. Kalinowski put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right. After 54 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for W. Nappo who increased Bügelbier's lead to 1 - 3. A. Laudani challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 55 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave V. Zenger from Capital a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 59 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! W. Nappo increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 4. Bügelbier had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. With 72 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed M. Jonkers of Bügelbier to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 5. The Bügelbier players could smell victory in the air. C. Berlanda wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for R. Ferrà after 73 minutes. R. Ferrà received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 74 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. The home crowd was not impressed when M. Jonkers came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 75 minutes. Bügelbier were now up 1 - 6. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Bügelbier lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. M. Hržina left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. M. Hollberg was the replacement. S. Herda wanted to play on, but the Bügelbier coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 84 minutes into the game by S. Ferraiuolo. Bügelbier claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.

Capital's top performer was clearly T. Ewald. G. Arnould on the other hand, had a terrible day. M. Kalinowski performed admirably for Bügelbier. However, A. Oulsounidis made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 6.
