(369444164)

26-05-2012 20.15
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 67406 to
Fire Stadium.
Jérémie Piaget was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Severino Telaeche and
Onno Kruger.
Phoenix_ started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Stoyanov - Davourlis, Versteeg, Panum - Guérinot, van der Duin, Barczak, Jegindø, Tapia - Milia, Eugénie.
Tsounami decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Eisert - Pivetta, Serbelloni, Spong - Pita, Zeiss, Bernardo Rodrigues, Rojas, Belyavskiy - Długi, Jossberger.
Tsounami mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Phoenix_ took the lead after 10 minutes as a result of
J. Tapia's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Phoenix_ to 2 - 0 as
S. Eugénie finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Phoenix_ solidified their lead at the 16 minute mark, as
S. Eugénie dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
Confident in their lead, Phoenix_'s players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Tsounami almost scored after a swift counterattack 20 minutes into the game, but
S. Długi put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal.
C. Milia should probably have put his team up another goal after 27 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
P. Eisert kept the visitors in the game.
3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Phoenix_, with 54 percent of the ball.
Tsounami were desperate to get a goal back and pushed forward through the middle 66 minutes into the game. After a scramble in the box, the ball dropped to
R. Jossberger, who smashed it home to make the score 3 - 1.
Cheers filled the stadium as
C. Milia broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to Phoenix_.
Phoenix_'s
B. Stoyanov had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 72 minutes having been played.
F. Pettersson was the replacement.
Phoenix_'s
S. Eugénie proved that he's been around on a football pitch before, when he took advantage of a few moments of confusion in the opposition's defensive line and elegantly scored for 5 - 1.
By then
S. Eugénie had scored three goals - a hat trick!
74 minutes into the game, Phoenix_ were awarded a penalty that
C. Guérinot turned into 6 - 1 without a problem.
Tsounami had a fair chance to reply after 77 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end
R. Zeiss was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish.
S. Eugénie could have put Phoenix_ up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 78 minutes.
Possession in this half belonged to Phoenix_, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.
The most dominating Phoenix_ player was without a doubt
G. van der Duin.
However,
F. Pettersson made a disastrous appearance.
R. Zeiss performed admirably for Tsounami.
On the other hand,
P. Eisert's play was disheartening.
The match ends 6 - 1.
