28-04-2012 17.40
9734 spectators arrived at
Sportplatz Ardionia, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Klaus Gasser was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rino Ghizzoni and
Luuk van Amsterdam.
Ardolea decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Maners - Gerig, Kümin, Duevelshaupt, Seelandt - Ilmberger, Munro, Dos-Santos, Raps - Fagnoni, Grütter.
Regensdorf started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Tikkanen - Bettinger, Megreladze, Dangreau, Metin, Chiapeta - Kačera, Stopiński, Koeberer - Koźmiński, Svilan.
0 - 1 was the score with 14 minutes played, after
B. Megreladze cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Regensdorf.
Regensdorf had to make a substitution after 21 minutes.
H. Dangreau limped off the field and was replaced by
A. Beńko.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Regensdorf tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
R. Koźmiński slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 2, 26 minutes into the game.
Regensdorf's
A. Beńko was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 28 minutes.
A marvellous Ardolea effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 30 minutes by
L. Dos-Santos, making the score 1 - 2.
A drive down the left side allowed
R. Koźmiński to get in close and score another goal for Regensdorf after 38 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 3.
Ardolea's
S. Munro soared above the crowd, but couldn't knock the corner home 43 minutes into the match.
With 44 minutes gone, Regensdorf had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However,
F. Koeberer did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out.
It was 1 - 3 at the break.
Regensdorf enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.
M. Kačera increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 4.
S. Stopiński could have put his team up another goal 49 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.
The visitors almost increased their lead after 50 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar.
Ardolea's
N. Ilmberger managed a superb strike from the left after 67 minutes that would have left goalkeeper
T. Tikkanen without a chance, had it not hit the post.
The visitors nearly scored again after 68 minutes, but a superb save by
G. Maners kept
N. Bettinger's free kick out of the net.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Regensdorf, with 63 percent of the ball.
Ardolea's top performer was clearly
W. Seelandt.
G. Maners on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Regensdorf player was without a doubt
R. Koźmiński.
However,
T. Tikkanen made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 4.
