Yläputki-09 mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. It was an obvious ambition of Herkules to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Players in Herkules heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 2 minutes into the match, and M. Duursma wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. Herkules's J. Killing had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 16 minutes having been played. W. Niemipelto was the replacement. A. Gómez acted with superior experience when, 17 minutes into the match, he predicted a pass, intercepted it and then finished off with a goal. 0 - 2 for Herkules! B. Benko came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over A. Wusterhausen but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Herkules had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. Herkules increased their lead after 33 minutes when M. Duursma broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. Yläputki-09's J. Schmatterig was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 40 minutes. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Herkules claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

After 46 minutes, Yläputki-09 switched F. Halang with T. Kaarret, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. 62 minutes into the match, B. Benko came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. 63 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as B. Nadolski finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. By now, the players in Herkules felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Some things can only be learned through experience, and H. Hertzsch should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Herkules a goal with 64 minutes of the match played. It was obvious that Herkules had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from B. Benko after 71 minutes, and prevented Herkules from going up another goal. After 84 minutes Herkules's E. Cazzola contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Coming in from the right, Herkules had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 85 minutes, but A. Gómez's attempt to finish was easily stopped. Possession in this half belonged to Herkules, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Most important Yläputki-09 player was M. Pedergnani. A. Wusterhausen turned in a dismal performance, however. K. Roschier performed admirably for Herkules. On the other hand, A. Bastegieta's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 4.
