Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 50000 at Hadleys Hope today. Andre Messerli was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gelwin van der Veeken and Uffe 'Knodd' Gröönell. Archeiron decided to use a 5-3-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Genta - Tobescu, Soyupak, Knops, Warmser, Cioli - Guarise, Cassidy, Roseta - Velez, van Scheppingen.

Olympique started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. The following players took the field: Pêcheur - Agelet, Correia Rodrigues, Casale, Catelain, Simoncini - Aznares, Coristanco, Gerhards, Terrasson - Ferrer.

Archeiron were relying on their ability to counter-attack. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Olympique. The most controversial moment of the game was likely the penalty given after 20 minutes. Olympique's Z. Aznares kept his concentration, despite the upset crowd, and calmly put the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 1. H. Coristanco could have put his team up another goal 29 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. After 30 minutes, the defensive line of Archeiron created a counterattack through the middle that gave S. Knops a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Olympique had to make a substitution after 32 minutes. É. Pêcheur limped off the field and was replaced by M. Mayta. M. Guarise of Archeiron was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. A quick counter attack by Archeiron forced the opponent's defender to give away a freekick. Y. Cioli was allowed to take it quickly by the referee, much to the dismay of the goalkeeper who wasn't prepared. 1 - 1! After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, S. Knops got himself booked. The manager of Archeiron was not happy. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Olympique, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

With 49 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Archeiron resulted in a counterattack that set V. Velez free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. Archeiron's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 51 minutes gone, but C. Cassidy's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Archeiron's E. Roseta was shown a yellow card after 58 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Olympique, as N. Catelain left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. H. Harmes took his place on the field. After 60 minutes, the Archeiron coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving C. Cassidy off the field. A. Dinamite took his place. Archeiron made it 2 - 1 as M. Guarise got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to V. Velez who whipped a low drive in off the far post. T. Warmser could have put Archeiron up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 64 minutes. K. van Scheppingen left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 70 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. C. Escayola was the replacement. Olympique enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

The most dominating Archeiron player was without a doubt V. Velez. S. Knops turned in a dismal performance, however. Olympique's best player was H. Coristanco. M. Mayta on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.
