A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 12000 to Providence Chtadion. Oskar Peltz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Oğuz Yurd and Simon Deisl. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Lorraine derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Brousouffes decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. At the beginning of the game, FCmetz appeared to have already taken this victory to the bank. A. Smutka of FCmetz received a yellow card after 6 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. FCmetz's A. Smutka gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 18 minutes with a superb strike from the right. With 40 minutes played, FCmetz put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was J. Campestre. With 41 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed J. Vappula of FCmetz to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3. Brousouffes's N. Le Chevalier had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 42 minutes having been played. S. Bourdoncle was the replacement. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. FCmetz claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 85 percent.

J. Campestre's speed was clear to see after 50 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released D. Muñoz who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 0 - 4. The players of FCmetz now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. After 63 minutes, FCmetz sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached D. Muñoz, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 5. The coach of FCmetz was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 65 minutes, I. Condrea came on for D. Cotegipe. D. Muñoz wanted to play on, but the FCmetz coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by J. Apell. Content with how the game was proceeding, the FCmetz coach let K. Manohar replace A. Smutka after 70 minutes. Some fine movement on the left led to a FCmetz goal after 80 minutes, making it 0 - 6. J. Apell was noted down as the scorer. D. Facq enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again. The home crowd was not impressed when M. Lescure came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 85 minutes. FCmetz were now up 0 - 7. 86 minutes in, FCmetz's S. Dodemond received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A drive down the left side allowed S. Dodemond to get in close and score another goal for FCmetz after 87 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 8. The visitors' M. Boga took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 89 minutes into the match. 0 - 9 for FCmetz. Given a free kick close to the byline, FCmetz tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let J. Vappula slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 10, 89 minutes into the game. FCmetz had most of the ball, with 89 percent of possession.

D. Gilles performed admirably for Brousouffes. M. Pujol turned in a dismal performance, however. FCmetz's top performer was clearly M. Boga. M. Lescure on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 10.
