previous 9/10 next 1/10  Saffré 5 - 0 AS.Nancy.FOOTFOOTFO (370511413)

8793 punters turned up at Saffré Atlantica, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Raoul Gahan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Francis Floch and Håkan Bladstrand. Saffré had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Jawdai - Lebosse, Lecesne, Bouvier, Fermon - Leroy, Marchal, Mayeur, Herbe - Bernad, Scharka.

AS.Nancy.FOOTFOOTFO decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players took the field: Hertenstein - Mysen, Baldinelli, Roquant, Eichel - den Besten, Mazoyer, Caron, Kanouni - Svensson, Lemos Ferreira.

AS.Nancy.FOOTFOOTFO saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Saffré made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left V. Lebosse completely alone with keeper O. Hertenstein, who made a spectacular block. H. Scharka caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 31 minutes. This gave Saffré the 1 - 0 lead. Saffré increased the lead as J. Marchal struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Saffré claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 82 percent.

After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, U. Svensson got himself booked. The manager of AS.Nancy.FOOTFOOTFO was not happy. S. Mazoyer's lack of experience almost gave Saffré a goal after 76 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Cheers filled the stadium as W. Bernad broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Saffré. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. T. Bouvier squirmed through their central defence after 85 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0. AS.Nancy.FOOTFOOTFO's R. den Besten was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 87 minutes. After 89 minutes, Saffré sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached A. Lecesne, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 5 - 0. Saffré had most of the ball, with 84 percent of possession.

Saffré's top performer was clearly W. Bernad. T. Bouvier was a disappointment, however. AS.Nancy.FOOTFOOTFO's best player was U. Svensson. S. Mazoyer on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 0.
