Patarecas 5 - 0 HANAU (370784074)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 23975 at Balele today. Radoje Gavrilović was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Teofil Winter and Nicolas Calas. Patarecas had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Abiven - Tubi, Pinho Filho, Fotinopoulos - Abu Jibara, Srb, Belhaj, Ferreira Branco, Mäder - Bäckstål, Matsson.

HANAU started off with a 3-4-2 lineup. Starters: Tumielewicz - Gyurka, Maximiano, Josić - Figueiró, Zippendorf, Laffineur, Barbosa Lopes - Schuyt, Celayeta.

It was an obvious ambition of Patarecas to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. HANAU used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. Many thought H. Abu Jibara ought to have been awarded a penalty 7 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around K. Tumielewicz after a determined run through the middle. 17 minutes in, HANAU appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Patarecas broke through on the left 28 minutes into the game, with A. Matsson firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Patarecas scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for J. Bäckstål after 31 minutes. 32 minutes into the game, HANAU seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Patarecas enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of HANAU was able to get his message across, and raised HANAU's organisation to solid. N. Fotinopoulos could have put Patarecas up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 51 minutes. 80 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as H. Mäder broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Patarecas. After 82 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as HANAU found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. Patarecas solidified their lead at the 87 minute mark, as J. Bäckstål dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0. With 88 minutes played, Patarecas put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to J. Bäckstål, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for J. Bäckstål. Patarecas had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

Patarecas's best player was A. Matsson. N. Fotinopoulos turned in a dismal performance, however. J. Barbosa Lopes performed admirably for HANAU. J. Zippendorf was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
