Seixo 2 - 0 PaTrICia (370788751)

The 22274 fans in attendance at Campo da bola were roasting in the hot sun. Nico Velghe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jens Larsson and Sonny Lorenzen. The derby had been the talk of Coimbra all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Seixo. Starters: Corridoni - Birok, Cerdelli, da Rocha, Pavlica, Cukier - Larrif, da Silva, Giacopello - 智翔 (Zhixiang), Thøgersen.

PaTrICia had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Javaherian - Júnior, Shpigler, Vinkenoog, Bellavicolo - van Twist, Bartalis, Kirkovits, Carletti - Arninkhof, Erlandsen.

Seixo clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. 31 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Seixo to take the lead after a good cross from the right found R. Cukier alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. 0 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Seixo, with 66 percent of the ball.

R. Cukier's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 50 minutes, Seixo tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. L. da Rocha didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play. F. Arninkhof came close to putting the visiting team one up 73 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but R. Corridoni managed to tip the ball to a corner. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave G. Birok from Seixo a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 75 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The heat made it a terrible day for G. da Silva, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players. T. Thøgersen caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 82 minutes. This gave Seixo the 1 - 0 lead. After 86 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and L. da Rocha gave the Seixo supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Seixo, who controlled the ball 60 percent of the time.

Most important Seixo player was G. da Silva. L. da Rocha on the other hand, had a terrible day. PaTrICia's top performer was clearly F. Arninkhof. On the other hand, A. Bellavicolo's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 0.
