Hewish 1 - 2 Villains
(371393719)

26-02-2012 04.00
Clear skies welcomed the 71244 spectators who had made their way to
St Andrews.
Ervin Kaltenbach was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Trond Forsmo and
Kenneth Hansen.
People from all over
Victoria had joined up for the derby.
Hewish tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Fristrup - Buko, Karam, Kiilmann - Mouré, Miročević, Butler, Likiliki, Trignani - Schreurs, Casal Huerta.
Villains decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Glendenning - Peverill, Moorehouse, Arries - Sathi, Nualitea, Mulder, Wang, Scotta - Reif-Pöhner, Torsson.
Slack defending gave Hewish a chance to take the lead with 17 minutes played, but
A. Schreurs's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
They were singing the praises of
M. Likiliki 18 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Hewish.
Halftime score was 1 - 0.
Villains had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
G. Butler's curling free kick almost found the goal for Hewish, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 51 minutes, Villains did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
M. Torsson was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 1.
62 minutes into the match, the Hewish manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged.
Villains had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 69 minutes in when
M. Torsson came up alone against
T. Fristrup who managed a block.
Villains's
F. Scotta got himself booked for a foul.
After 81 minutes Villains's
B. Wang limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
82 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
F. Scotta, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Villains's
D. Mulder after 86 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead.
Possession in this half belonged to Villains, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
The most dominating Hewish player was without a doubt
A. Schreurs.
I. Miročević was a disappointment, however.
Villains's best player was
C. Reif-Pöhner.
However,
O. Sathi made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 2.
