Amarica 2 - 3 Balocana (371515120)

Clear skies welcomed the 12000 spectators who had made their way to Amarica Arena. Jamal Ramzi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ricardo Alves and Steve Condori. Amarica started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: Lee - Choi, Kim, Seo, Kim - Jung, Kong, Jeon, Lee - Kang, Lim.

Balocana had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Yun - Lee, Ahn, Sun, Park - Kim, Kim, Park, Park - Kim, Kim.

After 17 minutes, Balocana put themselves up 0 - 1, as C. Ahn finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. Balocana's D. Kim made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 33 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. With 34 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed C. Kim of Balocana to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. The visitors' S. Lee took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 35 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Balocana. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Balocana lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Balocana, with 60 percent of the ball.

One of many good crosses from D. Lee on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by Y. Lim, who scored for Amarica. 1 - 3 W. Kim could have put his team up another goal 58 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, D. Kim would have put Balocana up another goal 68 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. D. Lee's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 73 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to Y. Lim who knocked it in for Amarica. 2 - 3! K. Kim was, after 81 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Y. Lee made the save. Balocana enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

Most important Amarica player was J. Kang. Y. Lee turned in a dismal performance, however. Balocana's top performer was clearly K. Kim. However, K. Sun made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 3.
