Jeollabuk-do 1 - 7 YongGang (371515123)

7000 punters turned up at Jeollabuk-do , and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Abdalla Rono was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tommi Paanalahti and Ralph Douglas. Jeollabuk-do started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Starters: Choi - Jung, Park, Kim, Baek - Kim, Ko, Won, Cho - Ji, Jang.

YongGang decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Zagdan - Son, Kim, Ki, Lee - Kim, Kim, Plius, Ungarschütz - Son, Kim.

YongGang saw most attack opportunities on the wings. The terraces were silenced after 3 minutes when YongGang's D. Kim put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. A drive down the left side allowed T. Ungarschütz to get in close and score another goal for YongGang after 9 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. With 16 minutes played, S. Cho of Jeollabuk-do fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 18 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave K. Son a chance to increase the lead for YongGang, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. By now, the players in YongGang felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. 0 - 3 was the score after the first half. YongGang enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

In the lead, YongGang adjusted their style of play with 46 minutes gone. YongGang's K. Son made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 49 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. N. Kim finished off the counterattack of YongGang from the left rather easily, making the score 0 - 4. After 62 minutes, YongGang sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached J. Kim, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 5. After 63 minutes, S. Jung sent the corner kick right to Y. Baek who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 5! With 79 minutes played, YongGang put themselves up 1 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was T. Ungarschütz. The visitors added to their lead 80 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by YongGang's K. Son slid just past the home keeper. 1 - 7. YongGang had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

The most dominating Jeollabuk-do player was without a doubt S. Cho. J. Kim turned in a dismal performance, however. YongGang's top performer was clearly D. Kim. S. Plius was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 7.
