Clouds darkened the skies at
DINAMO stadium as 44039 spectators turned up for the match.
Hubert Krahenbuhl was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Martijn Lekkerkerker and
Ludo Lebée.
The derby had been the talk of
Moscow all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
ZVON had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
Lineup: Pimenov - Fjordside, Valdivieso - Scardilli, Mocanu, Baggio, Baturo, Pukshanskiy - Anca, Pershin, Skorupa.
Pahtakor79 started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: De Smedt - Vinterblad, Tornagui, Jonasson - Proskurin, Matsson, Deutsch, Éberle, Coda - Vasin, Ocampos.
Pahtakor79 saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
After 4 minutes ZVON's
D. Pershin contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 17 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
S. Valdivieso, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
After 38 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
B. Skorupa gave the ZVON supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0.
N. Mocanu could have increased the lead after 40 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
Cheers filled the stadium as
B. Skorupa broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to ZVON.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by ZVON, with 63 percent of the ball.
ZVON's
R. Baturo put in a disappointing effort on a penalty after 52 minutes, firing just wide of the goal.
D. Pershin increased the lead for ZVON to 4 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Pahtakor79 fought on and, after 74 minutes,
R. Vinterblad was able to reduce the deficit to 4 - 1 after some excellent moves on the right side were finished off with an incredibly clever chip.
ZVON's
B. Skorupa increased the lead to 5 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 75 minutes.
That made three goals for
B. Skorupa and he was marked down for the hat trick.
After this, you could see that the players of ZVON were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
With 78 minutes played,
B. Skorupa could have brought this one home for ZVON as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
Possession in this half belonged to ZVON, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.
Most important ZVON player was
B. Skorupa.
S. Baggio on the other hand, had a terrible day.
G. Éberle performed admirably for Pahtakor79.
S. Deutsch was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
