Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 68597 to
Zavka Arena.
Brynjar Bergseth was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Frede Arndal and
Christian Pelloux.
Zavka had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Mutu - Mattschull, Akpakoun, Ferlay - Charino, Ernsberger, Mallo, Ingenito, Pastoors - Lloria, Montenay.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for sebucha.
Lineup: Shuvalov - Floriańczyk, Defresne, Brabec, Ercan - Kammer, Quintans, Buchmann, Davoli, Corsetti - Michelet.
Zavka took a creative approach on the field.
sebucha used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field.
J. Lloria of Zavka seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 0 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
J. Ferlay.
sebucha's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends.
13 minutes into the game, sebucha had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
Zavka managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when
F. Mallo cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
After this, you could see that the players of Zavka were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
22 minutes in, sebucha's
G. Corsetti received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Zavka were forced into a substitution as
C. Mutu couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
T. Łuczywek to come in off the bench.
Halftime score was 2 - 0.
Zavka enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.
The sebucha players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
After 55 minutes, sebucha switched
G. Kammer with
K. Rejniak, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
sebucha needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 60 minutes
R. Quintans made way for
N. Doenselmann.
At this time in the match, sebucha were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game.
The referee showed Zavka's
G. Akpakoun the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
The player down was
T. Brabec. The sebucha bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up.
69 minutes in, sebucha appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
passable.
Zavka's
J. Ferlay put in a disappointing effort on a penalty after 71 minutes, firing just wide of the goal.
G. Corsetti remonstrated furiously with the referee after sebucha had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch.
With 87 minutes played, the excellent ball from the wing by Zavka's
A. Charino reached
T. Montenay's head, and he is not one to miss such an opportunity - 3 - 0.
Zavka's
F. Mattschull saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 88 minutes.
89 minutes into the game, sebucha seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
inadequate.
Possession in this half belonged to Zavka, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.
T. Montenay performed admirably for Zavka.
However,
T. Łuczywek made a disastrous appearance.
sebucha's best player was
P. Buchmann.
K. Rejniak was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.
