previous 6/7 next 1/7  Chesret 1 - 2 Piotrcovia (372015487)

1480 fans braved the pouring rain at FC Chesret United Arena. Hélder Matos was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ciro Frisenda and Calogero Bidoglia. Chesret tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Lineup: Szpajcher - Markiewicz, Dobiecki, Szukała, Prasek - Bijak, Ptasznik, Swiderski, Boberek - Kuchta, Wisniewski.

Piotrcovia decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Ziętkiewicz - Kuman, Siepietowski, Papiewski, Sander - Piecha, Koch, Garbela, Munia - Smoliński, Łopacki.

With 13 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, B. Ptasznik needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. 0 - 1 was the score with 23 minutes played, after M. Koch cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Piotrcovia. M. Bijak had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today. G. Sander was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! After 41 minutes, Piotrcovia's M. Garbela burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. K. Szukała, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Chesret, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

48 minutes in, Chesret's A. Kuchta received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Chesret supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to H. Markiewicz who reduced the visitors' lead after 57 minutes to 1 - 2. After 78 minutes, Piotrcovia were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. D. Siepietowski did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. 79 minutes into the match, K. Piecha came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Chesret claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

Most important Chesret player was W. Boberek. On the other hand, H. Szpajcher's play was disheartening. Piotrcovia's best player was Ł. Łopacki. K. Ziętkiewicz on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 2.
