previous 8/10 next 10/10  Solonitzevka 1 - 1 Crossy (372466019)

63157 fans braved the pouring rain at Energetik Solonitzev Arena. Henrik Melvang was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Igor Buzic and Michael Krebser. All of Kharkiv was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Solonitzevka. Lineup: Vargas-Zúñiga - Paulista, Panagiotakis - Cozzella, Ivaschenko, Bichul, Dudko, Caligiuri - Kovgan, Baaji, Peerlings.

Crossy decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. The following players took the field: Gimenez - Mauceri, Hauser, Falcato, Valter - Daniv, Sakharov, Kanchelskis, Krymskiy, Viettinghoff - Adriasola.

With 11 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as C. Peerlings flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. After 26 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 1 - 1 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by G. Falcato. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Crossy claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

As the 65 minute mark approached, the Solonitzevka coach decided it was time for a substitution. Y. Panagiotakis reluctantly made way for J. Rameiser on the pitch. 66 minutes into the game, A. Viettinghoff almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. The referee showed Solonitzevka's E. Dudko the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but R. Caligiuri showed great heart and had a good game. 75 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Solonitzevka substitution. A. Boru came on for P. Kovgan. After 85 minutes, the Solonitzevka coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving G. Cozzella off the field. B. Erceg took his place. Possession in this half belonged to Crossy, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Solonitzevka's best player was G. Baaji. However, N. Paulista made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Crossy player was without a doubt T. Sakharov. J. Hauser was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
