Gôteborg 4 - 1 ÖrebroSK (372570304)

43906 spectators had come to Gôteborg Arena this cloudy day. Tito Galluccio was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Eduardo Javali and Ferdinand Buleetwa. Gôteborg decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Franceschetti - Burgos, Lazzara, Arbeláez - Frančišković, Fjällind, Malm, Taillandier, Lennie - Brand, Geestemünd.

ÖrebroSK tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Andersson - Tarkiainen, Ehnmo, Josefsson - Enggren, Strömberg, Fyhrgren, Nilsson, Falkenblom - Stridin, Dzieniszewski.

Gôteborg took the lead after 24 minutes as a result of F. Brand's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. ÖrebroSK's M. Fyhrgren was shown a yellow card after 33 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Gôteborg's C. Lennie increasing the lead to 2 - 0. The referee showed Gôteborg's H. Geestemünd the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 37 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by J. Arbeláez might have resulted in another goal for Gôteborg. However, H. Andersson made a spectacular save. After 38 minutes, a long pass from Gôteborg's O. Frančišković caught the defence out of position. H. Geestemünd collected the ball, and with the goal at his mercy calmly rolled the ball just inside the post. 3 - 0. By now, the players in Gôteborg felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Gôteborg had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.

A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Gôteborg to 4 - 0 as A. Burgos finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Gôteborg's J. Arbeláez was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 51 minutes. J. Arbeláez should probably have put his team up another goal after 61 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by H. Andersson kept the visitors in the game. ÖrebroSK's O. Dzieniszewski left the field after 64 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was M. Sedbo. ÖrebroSK managed to reduce the score to 4 - 1 as N. Stridin finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the defence. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Gôteborg, with 53 percent of the ball.

H. Fjällind performed admirably for Gôteborg. G. Lazzara was a disappointment, however. ÖrebroSK's best player was N. Stridin. M. Ehnmo turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 1.
