After 28 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Liverpool was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. After a scuffle in the guests' penalty area 31 minutes into the game, the home team was awarded a penalty. S. Kleuters scored to make it 1 - 1. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Liverpool had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

H. Joos caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 50 minutes. This gave Liverpool the 2 - 1 lead. M. Kirkegaard hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Liverpool's H. Joos an easy chance to knock it in for 3 - 1. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Liverpool, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Liverpool's I. I. Giesel performed admirably for Liverpool. However, J. Landander made a disastrous appearance. Most important moholm player was Z. Brederode. K. Sono turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 2.
