Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at Fotbolls kulan a little nervous, but the rain held off. Vinko Žodan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Manuel Turke and Torbjörn Myrstrand. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Gripenbärgs, with 53 percent of the ball.

M. Aziz was, after 53 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper Ö. Persson made the save. After 61 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for B. Rolfsson who increased Gripenbärgs's lead to 0 - 3. The referee signalled a penalty 69 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. L. Paulsson knocked it home to make the score 0 - 4. Gripenbärgs claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
