Mercer 7 - 0 Skinn
(372875530)

25-03-2012 11.05
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 18250 had shown up at
Mercer Arena for the match.
Wilfried Rynes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Philipp Christoph Bolterauer and
Berro Derksen.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Mercer.
The following players took the field: Åhlstedt - Hansson, Hansson, Hansson, Carlsson - Larsson, Olsson, Valve, Hjorthall - Gransten, Granen.
Skinn had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Kyhlskär - Tjäderbom, Lagerbo, Martinsson, Gyllenskog - Nilsson, Forsbeck, Yngvesson, Becking - Pettersson, Simonsson.
With 5 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
D. Olsson flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
D. Olsson should probably have put his team up another goal after 29 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
M. Kyhlskär kept the visitors in the game.
J. Gyllenskog behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 33 minutes as he gave the ball away to
U. Larsson. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
Mercer managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when
A. Hjorthall cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
Skinn's
S. Pettersson was shown a yellow card after 38 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
After 39 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
M. Valve gave the Mercer supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
F. Simonsson from Skinn a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 41 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
Mercer enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.
After 67 minutes, Mercer were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
J. Hansson did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
Mercer's
F. Gransten increased the lead to 4 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 75 minutes.
After 78 minutes,
D. Olsson put Mercer ahead 5 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
After this, you could see that the players of Mercer were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
U. Larsson hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving Mercer's
F. Gransten an easy chance to knock it in for 6 - 0.
86 minutes into the match
F. Hansson put Mercer ahead 7 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick.
Mercer claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.
The most dominating Mercer player was without a doubt
M. Valve.
On the other hand,
J. Hansson's play was disheartening.
Skinn's top performer was clearly
R. Becking.
M. Kyhlskär on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 7 - 0.
