Dark skies made the crowd of 18250 at Mercer Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, T. Thorwald got himself booked. The manager of West was not happy. Mercer's U. Larsson increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 73 minutes. The referee showed Mercer's D. Olsson the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A. Cronstad hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving West's M. Ångblom an easy chance to knock it in for 5 - 1. Morale on the visitors' bench was greatly improved when their M. Bengtsson reduced the lead to make it 5 - 2 after 82 minutes, following a pass from the right. A. Cronstad of West received a yellow card after 85 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. M. Valve performed admirably for Mercer. However, J. Hansson made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating West player was without a doubt M. Bengtsson. H. Holell was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 2.
