Clear skies welcomed the 32808 spectators who had made their way to Yıldırım Park. Ferhat Özkutsal was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Yordan Filipovich and Radosław Zdun. Erbaa started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Betschy - Gandolfi, Helal, Karaben - Gérardy, Ütücü, Marcon, Calvagno - Millau, Nesse, Byrne.

YBY had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Prasnal - Nafile, Vigo, Murariu, Aleda - Ligmanowski, Govindin, Belger, Maşuke - Jacquet, Stacy.

YBY saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Erbaa took the lead 5 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as G. Marcon elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. P. Murariu of YBY received a yellow card after 20 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Erbaa's O. Nesse swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. Erbaa were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 27 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by F. Calvagno. 2 - 0 for the home side. Erbaa increased the lead as O. Ütücü struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. YBY's K. Maşuke got himself booked for a foul. Unfortunately for Erbaa, A. Byrne was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. J. Hulsmans replaced him. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Erbaa claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

After 57 minutes, M. Vigo sent the corner kick right to M. Jacquet who headed it sharply past the keeper. 3 - 1! YBY's W. Ligmanowski seemed to stun everyone on the field with an accurate shot that seemed to come from nowhere. Somehow, the keeper managed to keep his cool and made a fantastic save. O. Nesse could have put Erbaa up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 61 minutes. After 63 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by K. Gérardy might have resulted in another goal for Erbaa. However, W. Prasnal made a spectacular save. A great save by keeper W. Prasnal after 65 minutes kept the visitors in the game after C. Gandolfi struck from the left with a real cannonball. YBY played a good counterattacking move down the left 66 minutes into the match, with D. Stacy finishing well for 3 - 2. Against a lesser team, Erbaa could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 68 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, YBY's W. Ligmanowski was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes. C. Dalamer was given a chance to change things around. With 79 minutes gone, YBY's P. Murariu had to leave the pitch after talking back to the referee and receiving his second booking. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Erbaa coach let T. Meyil replace O. Nesse after 82 minutes. Erbaa had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

Erbaa's top performer was clearly C. Gandolfi. On the other hand, D. Karaben's play was disheartening. Most important YBY player was M. Jacquet. However, K. Maşuke made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 3 - 2.
