Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 26 minutes, sari did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, G. Felentzer was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by CA L, with 52 percent of the ball.

The CA L players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. CA L tied it all up, 51 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by G. Belluccini, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 2 - 2. K. Pánek of sari received a yellow card after 53 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. L. Zumaran would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. M. Ferreira Oliveira entered the game for CA L as the match clock showed 58 minutes. As the 67 minute mark approached, the CA L coach decided it was time for a substitution. E. Condemi reluctantly made way for A. Sá on the pitch. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 73 minutes allowed C. Lopez to score for CA L. The scoreboard now read 2 - 3. The referee showed CA L's A. Sá the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 75 minutes played, the sari coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. J. Túpac Amaru came on, G. sari's top performer was clearly J. Ávila. A. Contreras turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating CA L player was without a doubt M. Šparović. However, A. Sá made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 3.
