Dark skies made the crowd of 81790 at Comets Dome a little nervous, but the rain held off. Péter Csábi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gaetano Monaci and Marc Aumont. Comets fans erupted in celebration as M. Hadžimehmedović rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0! S. Delmas could have put Comets up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 42 minutes. The home side's M. Hadžimehmedović curled a free kick home after 43 minutes, putting Comets ahead 2 - 0. 2 - 0 was the halftime score. Comets claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

With 50 minutes played, the Dizzying coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. P. Petisme came on, D. Murschall had to leave the fray. After 79 minutes Dizzying's J. Villacanes limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Dizzying needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 80 minutes L. Perales made way for K. Mesker. The referee showed Dizzying's J. Van 'T Dack the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Y. Ibn-Jamal was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so Comets's J. Abed-Yaseen had to come off the bench. Given a free kick close to the byline, Comets tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let P. Tulinský slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 0, 85 minutes into the game. J. Villacanes was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by P. Petisme, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. Comets enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

Comets's best player was M. Hateboer. However, H. Shareef made a disastrous appearance. Dizzying's top performer was clearly J. Van 'T Dack. R. Patiño turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
