Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 10801 to FC Styrvolterne Arena. Giovanni Lasagni was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Joosep Olesk and Björn Ångsten. All of Vestsjælland was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FCS. Man utd decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Petersen - Alin, Moncada, Hüttlinger - Barontini, Caponi, Bobály, Bottacchi, Marin - Simaey, Lénárt.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of FCS. Man utd had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 18 minutes in when C. Simaey came up alone against A. Mora who managed a block. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when S. Moncada was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 19 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Man utd's Z. Lénárt after 23 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. Z. Lénárt was, after 30 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper A. Mora made the save. Coming in from the right, FCS had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 31 minutes, but J. Mills's attempt to finish was easily stopped. After 32 minutes of game time, S. Moncada had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but A. Mora was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Man utd enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 71 percent of possession.

F. Hüttlinger wanted to play on, but the Man utd coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by J. Gamoneda. After 66 minutes, Z. Lénárt sent the corner kick right to J. Gamoneda who headed it sharply past the keeper. 0 - 2! Confident in their lead, Man utd's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. A drive down the left side allowed C. Simaey to get in close and score another goal for Man utd after 69 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3. B. Caponi came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over A. Mora but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. The Man utd players could smell victory in the air. Y. Alin wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for M. Kykkänen after 75 minutes. 80 minutes into the game FCS broke through on the left wing and E. Çınak managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 3. With 83 minutes played, B. Caponi nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Man utd claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.

J. Apalis performed admirably for FCS. A. Mora was a disappointment, however. Man utd's top performer was clearly Z. Lénárt. M. Kykkänen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 3.
