The 38040 fans in attendance at
SKORPIONENS KLO were roasting in the hot sun.
Saleh Mahmoud was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Felicio Amarelo and
Elvin Basom.
Skolopenders tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Loonstein - Helzer, Leijoner, Lillelund - Cillekens, Sankilampi, Leyman, Ragnkvist, Roussy - Senamueng, Erdoğan.
Mik started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Görgen - Plum, Feitosa, Munk - Eliassen, Spørring, Thinggaard, Lund Jensen, Schøler - Fabbri, Ahrenst.
Skolopenders used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Skolopenders's
T. Erdoğan tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders.
T. Senamueng caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 19 minutes. This gave Skolopenders the 1 - 0 lead.
29 minutes into the game, Mik seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
solid.
A penalty 32 minutes into the game gave the home side a chance at adding to the score, but an overconfident
T. Erdoğan shot the ball wide trying to put it away in the top corner.
35 minutes into the game, Mik seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
Cheers filled the stadium as
E. Leijoner broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Skolopenders.
By now, the players in Skolopenders felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Skolopenders tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
E. Leijoner slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 0, 41 minutes into the game.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Skolopenders, with 79 percent of the ball.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Mik had
solid organisation.
50 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
M. Cillekens broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Skolopenders.
65 minutes into the game, Mik had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
passable.
Skolopenders solidified their lead at the 70 minute mark, as
J. Roussy dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0.
It was obvious that team Skolopenders had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Skolopenders's
T. Erdoğan increasing the lead to 6 - 0.
Skolopenders's
M. Cillekens was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 73 minutes.
Skolopenders had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.
Most important Skolopenders player was
T. Sankilampi.
B. Lillelund was a disappointment, however.
Mik's top performer was clearly
G. Fabbri.
C. Lund Jensen turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 6 - 0.
