Mads 0 - 8 Deagledan

12000 spectators arrived at FC Mads Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for soccer. Costel Deleanu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dean Chester and Federico Domínguez. After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, Mads decided to go with a 4-4-2 formation. They fielded: Schmeichel - Loebbeke, Smidt, Appel, Doneus - Pejtersen, Slotø, Eg, Riber - Halskov, Kirkeby.

The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and Deagledan formed up in a 3-5-2 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. The following players had been selected: Sall - Berg, Huberty, Malard - Huus, Nibe, Niyazov, Frazier, Braagaard - Mårtensson, Scherens.

At the beginning of the game, Deagledan appeared to have already taken this victory to the bank. After 20 minutes, Deagledan put themselves up 0 - 1, as H. Mårtensson finished off a play from the left with a real rocket. After 24 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for H. Mårtensson who increased Deagledan's lead to 0 - 2. MY GOD, KING! B. Appel JUST GAVE A DEFENDER AN RKO OUT OF NOWHERE! MY GOD ALMIGHTY HE'S BROKEN IN HALF! Mads are going to have to play the rest of the game a man down! The game had been going for 26 minutes when D. Huus broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3 for Deagledan, much to the home crowd's dismay. N. Smidt got left behind when Deagledan's K. Scherens made a sudden rush forward in minute 31, finishing it off with a clinical strike. 0 - 4! Deagledan's players now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. A corner kick created massive confusion in the penalty area, with a near-goal by H. Mårtensson. At last, Deagledan's K. Scherens was able to will the ball into the net. 0 - 5. Deagledan already had the lead, so S. Nibe probably won't be too disappointed that his speculative shot from the right 37 minutes in fell wide of the goal. The home fans looked somber as they watched their team give up another goal, this one coming from their right as H. Mårtensson put one through the keeper's legs. 0 - 6 after 41 minutes. At that, H. Mårtensson was noted down for a hattrick! Halftime score was 0 - 6. Deagledan set the tempo, maintaining 81 percent of possession.

The visitors added to their lead 55 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Deagledan's L. Malard slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 7. 60 minutes into the game, Deagledan were awarded a penalty and L. Malard was able to increase the visitors' lead to 0 - 8, rolling the ball in off the right post. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of rabid shoppers at a Wal-Mart Black Friday sale, Deagledan's S. Braagaard finally got himself booked for a foul. With 65 minutes played, S. Nibe nearly put the visitors up by one more as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot whizzed just over the bar. 72 minutes into the game, Deagledan worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Was that a pass or a bad touch? Either way, the inexperienced S. Berg almost gave Mads a goal, but luckily they couldn't capitalize on the mistake. J. Pejtersen managed to make an excellent pass from the wing, but N. Kirkeby was not as skillful and couldn't finish it off. Lewis Skolnick, in his Tri-Lamb sweater, grabbed the microphone away from the Deagledan coach in order to tell him that his team had 82 percent possession this half. Nerds.

The most outstanding Mads player was without a doubt H. Doneus. Good thing N. Smidt isn't a horse, because he'd surely be sent to the glue factory after that performance. Ş. Niyazov performed admirably for Deagledan. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because B. Frazier seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 0 - 8.
