With 40 minutes played W. Demortier almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. AnkhMorpork could have put themselves ahead after 42 minutes but B. Knobbe missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. 0 - 0 was the score after the first half. AnkhMorpork had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

B. Knobbe slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. 72 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but C. Cassarà, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. The crowd gasped as P. Lokianskas elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. After 86 minutes, J. Kusak sent the corner kick right to P.
