(374427712)

22-04-2012 18.25
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 35045 had shown up at
Stádio Côco for the match.
Ilyas Lienberger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fausto Prelle and
Andrei Micu.
People from all over
Santiago had joined up for the derby.
Tranca started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Thierstein - Püntener, Gherzi, Schuchardt - Wyłupski, Ciano, Mari Rosales, Wollert, Stråka - Bordé, Gomes.
Tubarões had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Bică - Lemoine, Leão, Majoch - Carvalhos, Egídio, Thum, Torres, Diniz Filho - Calmar, Azevedo.
Tubarões were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
C. Majoch was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 4 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead!
The guests almost went up by a goal after 13 minutes when
H. Azevedo came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
26 minutes into the game,
K. Thierstein had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
E. Simões Tavares.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Tubarões claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
After 46 minutes, the Tubarões coach made a sign to
H. Azevedo, who soon changed positions with
K. Calmar.
The coach of Tubarões wanted to try to change things around after 46 minutes, and gave new tactical instructions.
Tranca took the lead 48 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
R. Gomes elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
L. Srnský was called on to replace Tubarões's
C. Lemoine after 50 minutes following a nasty collision.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
S. Torres got himself booked. The manager of Tubarões was not happy.
55 minutes into the game,
L. Egídio almost tied it all up for the visitors with an expertly placed free kick. Unfortunately for Tubarões, the home keeper made an incredible save.
A quick counter attack by Tranca forced the opponent's defender to give away a freekick.
A. Wyłupski was allowed to take it quickly by the referee, much to the dismay of the goalkeeper who wasn't prepared. 2 - 0!
Given a free kick close to the byline, Tranca tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
J. Schuchardt slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 0, 65 minutes into the game.
By now, the players in Tranca felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Tubarões's
N. Leão was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 79 minutes.
J. Rosa was given a chance to change things around.
Tubarões had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
Most important Tranca player was
M. Bordé.
On the other hand,
E. Simões Tavares's play was disheartening.
A. Thum performed admirably for Tubarões.
C. Majoch turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.
